About Prepairent

The name tells the story.

Prepairent isn't just a name, it's a philosophy.

It's about preparing for parenthood before your baby arrives. It's about repairing the parts of yourself that no longer serve you. It's about becoming the parent you hope to be by understanding your own nervous system, your own patterns, and your own story. And it's about pairing: the relationship between you and your child, where safety, connection, and lifelong attachment are built.

At the center of it all is parenthood.

The // represents the relationship between parent and child. Two people. Two nervous systems. Two lives growing together. The space between those two lines is where connection is built, trust is formed, and healing is passed from one generation to the next. That's where this work lives.

We spend months preparing the nursery.

Researching strollers.

Reading birth books.

Packing hospital bags.

But almost no one prepares the person who is becoming the parent.

That's why Prepairent exists.

This is a space for expecting parents who want to begin this work before their baby arrives. It's also for parents who love their children deeply and still find themselves reacting in ways they don't understand. For parents carrying invisible stories, old wounds, impossible expectations, and the desire to do things differently.

You don't need to be fixed.

You don't need to be perfect.

You don't need someone to tell you exactly how to parent.

You need a place to slow down, become curious, and prepare yourself for the relationship that will shape your child's life, and your own.

Prepairent exists to walk beside you as you become the parent you want to be.

About Julie

I have been working with children my entire life. I just didn't always have a name for what I was doing.

It started when I was six years old, when my sister was born and I became, in so many quiet ways, a steady presence for her. It continued through years of babysitting neighborhood kids, working in childcare at an athletic club, and eventually spending my twenties and into my thirties as a nanny for multiple families across Seattle.

Those families were mostly first-time parents. They were doing their best and figuring it out in real time, and they leaned on me. Not just for childcare, but for guidance. Is this normal? What do I do when she won't stop crying? How do I handle this? I didn't know it then, but I was already doing parent coaching. I was teaching, steadying, and supporting, and it came naturally.

I always knew I wanted to build a career centered around children and families. I applied to graduate school in 2011 with exactly that intention. And then life happened, the way it does, and that path got set aside.

But here I am.

Now, as a single mother of two, with decades of lived experience, years of my own deep personal work, and formal training through the Jai Institute for Parenting, I am finally doing the work I was always moving toward. Prepairent isn't a pivot. It's a homecoming.

I also work as a real estate agent in the Seattle area. I share that not because it defines this work, but because it's part of who I am, someone who shows up fully in multiple areas of life, who understands what it means to juggle real responsibilities while trying to be present for your kids.

I know what it feels like to carry a lot while trying to show up steadily. I know what it feels like to want to do better and not always know how. And I know, from a lifetime of being in rooms with parents and children, that when a parent feels supported, everything at home begins to shift.

That's why I'm here. And I'm so glad you found your way here, too.

Training & Background

I am a certified parent coach through the Jai Institute for Parenting, where the focus is on nervous system regulation, attachment, connection, and developmentally respectful support.

I have also been accepted into Seattle University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program, beginning Fall 2026, where I will continue my education toward becoming a licensed therapist.

Prepairent provides parent coaching and educational support only. I do not offer therapy, diagnosis, or clinical treatment, and I will always be transparent with you about that distinction.

My Approach

This work is parent-centric. I believe that true change in families begins with the adult, not because children are the problem, but because parents are the most consistent source of steadiness in a child's life.

My approach draws from attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and emotional intelligence. Sessions are warm, attuned, and tailored to you. We go at your pace. We go where you need to go.

The goal is not perfection. It's presence.

Starting before they arrive

The most powerful time to do this work is before your baby gets here.

Prepairent works with expecting parents, individually or as a couple, beginning in pregnancy. Not because something is wrong, but because you have a window right now that won't come again. A chance to understand your own history, your patterns, your nervous system, and the kind of parent you want to be, before the sleepless nights and the overwhelming love and the moments you didn't expect arrive all at once.

Think of it like premarital counseling, but for becoming a parent. You do the work before you need it, so when you need it, you already have something to stand on.

After your baby arrives, I can be with you in person, not as a doula, but as a coach who already knows you, your history, and what you're working toward. We continue the inner work in the context of real life, real exhaustion, and real love.

This is where my heart lives. I have spent my entire life in rooms with new parents and babies, and I know how much is happening beneath the surface of those early months. You deserve support that goes deeper than a feeding schedule.

A Note on Scope

Prepairent provides parent coaching and educational support only. This work is not therapy and does not include diagnosis, clinical treatment, or legal guidance. If at any point therapy becomes the right next step, I will support and encourage that transition, and help you find the right fit.

Ready to take the first step?

You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to begin.
